Javier Cruz

Javier Cruz spends his weekdays as the men’s tailor at Harolds, but on weekends you can find him fishing at the San Luis Pass in Galveston.  His catch, either redfish or speckled trout, is always cooked, eaten and enjoyed by his family.  Mr. Cruz, as he is affectionately known to customers and co-workers, has a retirement home in his native Mexico.  But even after 28 years at Harolds, he has no immediate plans to move into it.  “I can catch more fish here,” he says.
