Robert
Duncan’s wife, Evelyn, is lucky. Most wives have a hard time
getting their husbands to do the smallest household chores. But
Robert, a sales consultant at Harolds for 37 years, is an
accomplished woodworker. He builds home furnishing such as
bookcases and coffee tables, and when Evelyn saw a wood pen at a
crafts fair, she had him duplicate it. “She’s the instigator,”
Robert says. “She’s the light of my life.” He is also an
excellent painter of both portraits and stills. If he sees
something he likes, from a computer screen saver to one of his
two children or grandchildren, he paints it.
